A scarlet I‘iwi bird perches on a branch with orange ‘ohi‘a lehua blossoms. This rare endemic honeycreeper lives in the cooler climbs of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park and can be found on Hawai‘i Island, Maui and Kaua‘i. Original design by Big Island artist Alane F. Cole.

Made from wood, K9 AB glass crystal and metal, the crystals’ vibrant colors dance and shimmer in the sunlight, creating a mesmerizing display of light and color. Each suncatcher is laser cut into 1/8″ wood then hand colored by the artist with pastels and sealed with multiple coats of lacquer to protect the wood.

Hang it in your window, on your lanai, or in any sheltered sunny spot to enjoy its radiant beauty throughout the day. Whether you’re seeking a touch of tropical charm for your home, a reminder of the Big Island, a gift for family or friends, the Volcano Suncatcher is a perfect choice. Add a fun and delightful decorative touch to any space.

Suggested for indoor display or hung under the eaves or in your lanai. The wood is sealed with multiple coats of lacquer but may degrade if left exposed to daily rain – or we don’t think about it in Hawai‘i but – snow!

Approximately 14″ in length, 5″ wide.
